The 46th Annual Conference of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia Inc will be held at the Novotel Twin Waters resort, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, from Sunday October 31, 2010 to Tuesday November 2, with optional workshops held on Wednesday November 3.

Following the Sunday night welcome reception on the Novotel lagoon beach, the 2010 conference will open on Monday Nov 1 with a keynote presentation from Dr. Jim Collins, Associate Director for Science at NIOSH Morgantown (USA). The conference will then reprise the spirit of the successful 2003 annual conference in that the remainder of the conference proper will comprise a single stream of posters and invited podium presentations.


The poster session will be scheduled to follow the opening keynote. The deadline for abstracts for posters and accompanying papers has passed (Call for abstracts) but late posters may be accepted subject to space constraints - email hfesa2010@burgess-limerick.com to enquire.


The Cumming Memorial lecture will presented by Greg Ralph on Tuesday, followed by a second Keynote by Prof Martin Helander (U Singapore).  Podium presentations will be provided by: AProf Wendy Macdonald (Latrobe U), AProf Stephan Riek (UQ), Daisy Veitch (Sharp Dummies), Prof Leon Straker (Curtin U), AProf Verna Blewett (UniSA), Andrea Shaw (Shaw Idea) and AProf Matthew Thomas (UniSA) and Christine Aickin (Workability).


The programme of workshops for Wednesday will be: (i) Prof Leon Straker (Curtin) & Dr. Nic Gilson (UQ); (ii) Greg Ralph; (iii) Prof Martin Helander (U Singapore) & Dr Halimahtun Khalid (Damai Sciences) & (iv) Dr Gary Dennis (ErgoEnterprises & UQ).
